The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed the embassies and missions of the State of Palestine to engage with foreign ministries, decision-making centers and public opinions in the host countries to build a broad international coalition to pressure Israel over its recent law prohibiting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) operations.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that the diplomatic initiative comes in partnership with brotherly and friendly Arab and Islamic countries.
The ministry warmly welcomed the stances of countries that emphasized their rejection of the Israeli Knesset’s decision banning UNRWA operations and called on all countries to issue statements condemning and rejecting this decision as an aggression on the Palestinian people, especially the Palestinian refugees.
The statement called on the United Nations and its relevant organizations to immediately take action to convert
this international rejection into measures that hold Israel accountable, protect UN institutions, and compel the occupying state to reverse this legislation.
