Palestinian Commission of Detainees: Occupation Forces Arrest over 400 Worshipers in Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs announced that the Israeli occupation forces arrested more than 400 worshipers during their aggression Tuesday night against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the people in it.

In a statement issued Wednesday, the commission said that the detainees were transferred to the “Atarot” detention center for interrogation, and expected the release of most of them on the condition that they be away from Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan.

Dozens of worshipers were injured last night after the occupation forces stormed the Qibli prayer hall in Al-Aqsa Mosque, and fired rubber-coated metal bullets, poison gas bombs and sound bombs was at them.

Video footage showed occupation forces assaulted the worshipers, severely beating them with batons and rifle butts, before arresting hundreds of them.

The tear gas canisters fired by the occupation soldiers set fire to a part of the Qibli prayer hall, which was extinguished by the worshipers.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society in Jerusalem said that its crews went to Al-Aqsa Mosque to treat the injured, but the occupation forces prevented them from entering the mosque and assaulted them.

In the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation warplanes bombed, at dawn Wednesday, a site west of Gaza City.

According to (WAFA) News Agency, the occupation warplanes targeted, with at least one missile, a site west of the city, leading to material damage, without any injuries reported. (QNA)
