Palestine Warns of a Settler Storm Fueled by State Power

Ramallah: The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a stark warning Thursday, condemning Israel’s continued arming of settler groups, describing it as a calculated strategy to entrench colonial dominance and forcibly displace Palestinians, in direct violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a sharply worded statement, the ministry accused the Israeli government of orchestrating a campaign of state-sponsored settler terrorism. The ministry cited a surge in violent assaults, home burnings, agricultural sabotage, and civilian intimidation, all allegedly carried out under the protection of Israeli forces.

The statement emphasized that these are not isolated incidents but rather the product of a deliberate policy. It claimed that this policy transforms settlers into armed militias with political, legal, and military cover.

The ministry also denounced recent announcements of thousands of new settlement units across the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. It described these developments as a full-fledged war crime designed to dismantle the two-state solution and perpetuate occupation.

The statement concluded by highlighting a broader escalation of intensified military operations across the West Bank and what it described as a green light for settlers to commit unchecked violations against Palestinians and their property.
