OpenAI Unveils GPT-6.1 Sol for Enhanced Programming Capabilities

Doha:OpenAI has introduced "GPT-6.1 Sol," a new model aimed at improving programming and handling complex tasks.

According to Qatar News Agency, the model significantly reduces the error rate in real-world accuracy tests, particularly in low-level reasoning, to 7.7 percent from the previous 11.4 percent seen with the "GPT-6 Sol" model. This performance is nearing that of the "GPT-6 Astra" model.

The GPT-6.1 Sol model supports the execution of programming tasks via AI agents, which includes task planning, execution, and tool usage, rather than merely suggesting code snippets.

OpenAI has highlighted that the model offers clearer insights into its own limitations and adheres more strictly to user constraints and safety guidelines compared to its predecessor.

Currently, GPT-6.1 Sol is accessible to Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu users through ChatGPT Work and Codex. However, it has not yet been integrated into the standard consumer chat model selection menu across all ChatGPT platforms.
