Oman’s GDP Rises by 5.1% in Second Quarter of 2026

Muscat:Oman's real gross domestic product (GDP) at constant prices experienced a growth of 5.1 percent in the second quarter of 2026, reaching approximately OMR 9.9 billion compared to about OMR 9.4 billion in the same period last year.

According to Qatar News Agency, preliminary data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information indicated significant growth in petroleum activities, which increased by 14.7 percent, reaching approximately OMR 3.4 billion from OMR 3 billion in the same quarter of the previous year.

The data also highlighted that non-petroleum activities saw a smaller increase of 0.7 percent, attaining approximately OMR 7.0 billion compared to OMR 6.8 billion in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

In the agricultural sector, there was a 2.3 percent rise in activity, bringing it to OMR 325 million from OMR 317.8 million in the second quarter of the prior year. However, industrial activities faced a decline of 1.5 percent, falling to approximately OMR 1.9 billion from OMR 2.0 billion year-over-year.

Service activities showed a positive trend, increasing by 1.5 percent to approximately OMR 4.6 billion compared to OMR 4.5 billion in the same quarter last year.
