Oman Facilitates Ceasefire Deal Between U.S. and Sanaa Authorities

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman announced today that an agreement has been reached to establish a ceasefire between the United States of America and the relevant authorities in Sanaa of the Republic of Yemen, with the aim of reducing escalation.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that, following recent discussions and communications conducted by the Sultanate with the United States and the concerned authorities in Sanaa in an effort to de-escalate tensions, an agreement for a ceasefire between the two sides was reached. The ministry added that, moving forward, neither party will target the other, including U.S. ships in the Red Sea and Bab Al Mandab, which will help ensure freedom of navigation and the smooth flow of international commercial shipping.

The Ministry expressed its hope that this step will lead to further progress on various regional issues in pursuit of justice, peace, and prosperity for all.
