NPRA issues 22,000 e-passports

The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) has issued 22,000 e-passports since the launch of the service in March.

The service provides high technology and security levels based on international passport issuance standards.

The name part of the e-passport covers a maximum of four names, in which 261 applications to correct the name were received from those registered in the previous passports with more than four names. All the applications were tackled.

The NPRA calls upon citizens who received their passports and want to update their names to submit requests, and the names will be printed according to the official documents.

They should report to any of the two service centers in the Security Complex in Muharraq and Isa Town after booking appointments via the MAWAEID app or through the NPRA website www.npra.gov.bh by clicking amendment of passport details.
