Doha: Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced on Saturday that the country's Presidential and National Assembly Elections are scheduled for Saturday, February 20, 2027, whereas the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly Elections are set to take place on Saturday, March 6, 2027.

According to Qatar News Agency, regarding proposed amendments to the electoral law, the INEC indicated that the commission will continue to work in accordance with applicable provisions until any amendments are approved and stressed the need for political parties to adhere to the primary elections' legal dates and to submit their nominations and electoral campaigns.
