The death toll of the earthquake that had struck Morocco rose to 2,681 while 2,501 injuries have been reported, the Moroccan Interior Ministry announced.

The ministry said 2,530 of the dead had been buried, according to MAP news agency.

The public authorities are continuing their efforts to rescue, evacuate and help the injured, and are mobilising all necessary resources to respond to the repercussions of this painful tragedy, the ministry’s statement affirmed.
