Manama, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been awarded the 2023 Bahrain Digital Content (BDC) Award for its Wejhaty (My Destination) application, at a ceremony organised by the Bahrain Technology Companies society (BTECH), in the presence of Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, the Chairman of the Shura Council, and a number of senior officials in the Kingdom.
The award was received by Ambassador Dr. Isa Nasser Al Noaimi, the Undersecretary of Consular and Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the presence of Ambassador Rana Mohammed Hassan, the Director of Information Systems at the Ministry, .
The award reflects the efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Information Systems to develop and provide the best e-services, in implementation of the directives of the wise leadership in digital transformation, and to achieve Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
Wejhaty application offers a variety of services to citizens and expatriates wishing to travel through providing all
the necessary information and facilitate their contact with the Ministry and its missions during their time abroad.
The app has played a vital role during the coronavirus pandemic, the Ukrainian war, and the crisis in Sudan, as well as during the evacuation of citizens in the Gaza Strip, where the app’s registered database has facilitated communication with citizens abroad and the delivery of instructions and support.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges all Bahraini citizens to download and register in the Wejhaty app from online stores (App Store / Play Store / App Gallery) or from www.bahrain.bh/apps or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
