Ministry of Labour Partners with ILO to Enhance Qatar’s Workforce and Work Environment.

Doha: The Ministry of Labour, represented by the Information and Labour Market Research Department, has organized a training session in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and its Training Center. The session, titled “Shaping the Future Workforce: A Brief Overview of the Enterprise Skills Survey (ESS),” is part of an ongoing technical collaboration aimed at enhancing institutional capacity in labour market policies and professional development in Qatar. This initiative aligns with the ministry’s objectives to boost the competitiveness of the national workforce, equipping it to meet local labour market demands in line with the Third National Development Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030.

According to Qatar News Agency, the three-day training session was attended by Ministry of Labour staff, researchers, employees from relevant government entities, and key stakeholders involved in workforce policy development and employment strategies. The training aimed to shape the future wor
kforce by adopting data-driven approaches to workforce development, using reliable research and evidence-based strategies to enhance employment processes. This aligns with the Third National Strategy for an Effective and Highly Productive Workforce 2024-2030, which seeks to strengthen the efficiency and competitiveness of the workforce to support Qatar’s economic growth, sustainable development, and innovation.

The course included a strategic workshop to foster cooperation between government entities and the private sector, focusing on sharing knowledge, best practices, and practical experiences. This collaboration is intended to support data-driven initiatives that enhance workforce development, address skill gaps, and ensure alignment between employment processes and the needs of both public and private sector entities and companies.

Through this initiative, the Ministry of Labour aims to identify and address skill gaps within the labour market and implement sustainable solutions. The Ministry is committe
