The Ministry of Labor announced the launch of the activities of the summer internship program for the year 2023, for Qatari students, as part of the activities of the National Program for Job Localization in the private sector, which the Ministry of Labor is evaluating in cooperation with private sector companies, and it will continue throughout the summer vacation.
The summer internship program, one of the human capacity development programs launched by the Manpower Employment Department in the Ministry of Labor in cooperation with the private sector, provides a internship opportunity for 100 students this year. The Labor market, in addition to investing in the future Qatari workforce, defining their orientations and making the best use of free time during the summer vacation in a way that benefits them and instilling the values of responsibility and commitment.
The summer internship program offers students the chance to gain insights into the workings of professions across 31 varied sectors and industries. Some of the notable sectors include finance and insurance, services and transportation, communications and information technology, real estate and contracting, and energy and industry. This hands-on experience enables students to align their skills and aptitudes with these professions, thereby guiding them in shaping their academic and future career trajectories effectively.
As part of the participation of the financial and insurance sector, 7 students participated in the summer internship program that was supervised by Qatar International Islamic Bank, while the number of students enrolled in the summer internship program reached 107 students, who applied for internship in a number of different sectors.
