Doha: The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has wrapped up a course on real estate valuation and appraisal. This two-week specialized training, organized by MoJ’s Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, was the first of its kind for real estate stakeholders and clients, featuring both theoretical presentations and practical training on professional methods and tools.
According to Qatar News Agency, the participants were equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills in line with best practices and applicable international valuation standards such as RICS and IVS. Assistant Undersecretary for Real Estate Registration Department Amer Saeed Al Ghafri awarded the participants certificates of completion, emphasizing that the training aligns with the MoJ’s new vision for engaging the public in the real estate registration and documentation sector.
Dr. Abdullah Hamad Al Khalidi, Director of the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, stated that the advanced course was designed to prepare and qualify legal personnel to serve the public efficiently. The event provided a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals, methods, and applicable legal and regulatory procedures for property valuation, making it ideal for real estate market enthusiasts.
The course explored five common methods of real estate valuation: comparison, cost, income, and discounted cash flow. Participants also learned how to prepare a detailed property inspection report, which includes relevant valuation documents such as lease contracts, engineering drawings, site maps, other contracts, and property photographs.
Additionally, the training covered factors affecting real estate valuation and the importance of market analysis, as well as local and international standards and legislation related to real estate valuation.
