Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs met with Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy on the sideline of the 27th GCC-EU Joint Council and Ministerial Meeting.

Al Zayani expressed his gratitude to Borrell for the condemnation in his speech regarding the act of aggression against the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) taskforce as they were participating in Operation Decisive Storm and Operation Restoring Hope, as part of the Arab Coalition Forces, in the southern border of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and his wishes for a speedy recovery for those injured.

He noted the strength of the relations between Bahrain and the EU, affirming the kingdom’s keenness to further develop cooperation with the EU.

The meeting discussed the Bahraini-EU ties and further developing them.

They also discussed the current situation in Gaza and the regional and international efforts to de-escalate and provide protection for civilians.
