MECC and AlRayan Bank Collaborate on Environmental Protection Initiative

Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC) and AlRayan Bank have signed a joint cooperation initiative aimed at supporting national efforts to protect meadows and preserve the environment. This initiative aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 and seeks to strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the signing ceremony was attended by HE Minister of Environment and Climate Change Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie and Acting GCEO of AlRayan Bank Omar Al Emadi. The agreement was formalized by Assistant Undersecretary for Protection and Natural Reserves Affairs Dr. Ibrahim Abdul Latif Al Maslamani and Assistant General Manager, Business Relations at AlRayan Bank Nawaf Faisal Talfat.

The initiative is set to implement practical programs such as fencing meadows, organizing regular cleaning campaigns, planting native trees and plants, and launching awareness programs to promote environmental sustainability. A joint technical committee will be formed to oversee the implementation process and measure the environmental impact.

Dr. Ibrahim Abdul Latif Al Maslamani highlighted that the initiative represents a model of successful cooperation with the private sector, contributing to the development of an integrated system for meadows protection and promoting sustainable biodiversity.

Nawaf Faisal Talfat noted that the signing of the initiative reflects AlRayan Bank’s commitment to social responsibility and support for sustainability projects. He emphasized that the bank continues to launch green financial initiatives and products that align with sustainable development goals.
