Kuala lumpur: Malaysia and Brunei have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening regional security and defense collaboration under ASEAN-led frameworks, as both nations seek to address traditional and non-traditional security challenges.
According to Qatar News Agency, the pledge came during a meeting between Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Brunei’s Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, held as part of the 26th annual bilateral consultation between the two countries.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the deepening defense ties, which continue to be bolstered through reciprocal visits, joint military exercises, and training programs.
The meeting represents the highest-level bilateral mechanism between Malaysia and Brunei, offering a platform for the two leaders to assess progress on ongoing cooperation, resolve outstanding issues, and exchange views on regional and global developments.
