Magnitude 5.3 Earthquake Strikes South Fiji Islands

Fiji: An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck on Wednesday south of Fiji Islands, located in the Pacific Ocean.

According to Qatar News Agency, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the epicenter of the quake occurred at a depth of 23.5 kilometers. Fiji is located above the Pacific Ring of Fire, making it exposed to many tremors and aftershocks that may be strong at times.
