Balikesir: An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale struck the Balikesir district in the west of Turkiye.
According to Qatar News Agency, Turkiye’s Disaster And Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) reported in a statement that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 6.97 kilometers.
There have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far.
On February 6, Turkiye experienced a significant earthquake, which resulted in the loss of more than 50,000 lives, injured thousands, and caused extensive damage to infrastructure across several states.
