This initiative aims to equip professionals with the necessary legal knowledge and skills to manage commercial and economic disputes both nationally and internationally, while keeping up with developments in arbitration, mediation, negotiation, and other resolution processes.
According to Qatar News Agency, the program was introduced at a press conference and is designed to meet the growing demand for proficient professionals in Qatar's rapidly evolving economic, investment, and commercial sectors. It supports the creation of a robust legal environment conducive to investment and business by providing swift and effective legal solutions.
The program is aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, which focuses on building a diversified, sustainable knowledge-based economy and developing human capital. It aims to produce professionals well-versed in resolving disputes in line with domestic and international standards, thereby attracting both domestic and foreign investment.
At the press conference, Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali Al-Thani, a member of the Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) at Qatar Chamber, emphasized the program's significance as a culmination of over two years of work. He highlighted QICCA's advisory role in the program and its commitment to supporting Lusail University and its graduates, who will become accredited arbitrators at the center.
The program is not restricted to law graduates; it is also available to graduates from other disciplines who complete bridging courses. This inclusivity reflects the interdisciplinary nature of arbitration and dispute resolution, essential for understanding Qatar's legal landscape and engaging effectively with foreign investors.
