Kuwait Signs Development Cooperation Agreement with United Nations

Kuwait: Kuwait has signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Nations aimed at strengthening development cooperation and supporting community-based projects within the country. The agreement, signed on Tuesday by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, establishes a framework for technical cooperation and bilateral action on a range of social and economic initiatives.

According to Qatar News Agency, the partnership will focus on projects designed to support human capital development and workforce rebuilding in Kuwait's labour market. The cooperation will be launched through an initial project, which seeks to promote job creation and economic empowerment, while contributing to sustainable development goals.

The Kuwait Fund said it has provided a grant to help finance projects approved under the agreement, in support of United Nations agencies operating in the country. The memorandum also covers cooperation on targeted community projects, broader technical initiatives, and regular consultations to coordinate activities and events, particularly in countries where both parties implement development programs, while respecting the objectives and policies of each side.
