Dubai:The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation, known as Kahramaa, has received the award for FM Implementation in Large-Scale Projects at the fifth edition of the MEFMA Awards of Excellence in Facilities Management. This prestigious event was organized by the Middle East Facilities Management Association (MEFMA).
According to Qatar News Agency, Kahramaa stated that the award underscores its leadership in applying international best practices in facilities and asset management. It also highlights the corporation's success in leveraging digital transformation and institutional innovation to enhance operational efficiency and promote sustainability.
The recognition was awarded to Kahramaa for its Asset Tracking System project, which employs barcode technology integrated with the maintenance management system within its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This project covers over 600 operational sites, including administrative buildings, power stations, water plants, customer service centers, and data centers. The system manages a verified database of more than 77,000 assets, facilitating streamlined asset management and improving maintenance operations across Kahramaa's facilities.
Kahramaa's General Services Department remarked that the award reflects the collective efforts and advanced capabilities developed in managing its facilities and assets. The department also noted that this acknowledgment enhances Kahramaa's standing in specialized industry forums and showcases its ability to develop innovative operational models centered on digital transformation and operational sustainability.
The MEFMA Awards of Excellence in FM serve as a prominent regional platform that celebrates innovation, leadership, and measurable impact in facilities management. The fifth edition of the awards, held in Dubai on September 17, featured 16 categories and honored a record 35 winners and highly commended recipients from across the region.
