Karak:Jordanian security forces have apprehended three men in connection with a fatal attack on a church in the Karak Governorate. The arrests followed an armed confrontation early Monday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Public Security Directorate reported that the suspects were located in an abandoned house in Hmoud village. The men, identified as the perpetrators of the attack, refused to surrender and opened fire on the approaching security personnel. The officers returned fire, wounding all three suspects before taking them into custody.

The operation resulted in no injuries to the security personnel involved. Authorities seized firearms and live ammunition from the location. Minister of Government Communication and Official Government Spokesperson Mohammad Momani praised the security agencies' efforts on X, noting the successful joint operation and confirming that no security forces were harmed during the confrontation.

The attack occurred on Friday at a Greek Orthodox church in Hmoud village during a funeral, resulting in the deaths of nine individuals and injuries to 34 others, as reported by Petra News Agency.
