Riyadh: The Jordanian Military announced the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotic substances using a drone: The Southern Military Zone, acting in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, thwarted the smuggling attempt along its western front, within its area of responsibility, the Jordan News Agency reported Sunday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the agency added that Border Guard units monitored the drone and enforced the rules of engagement, resulting in its being shot down inside Jordanian territory.

The confiscated materials were then handed over to the relevant authorities.
