Jordan Hails Efforts of Qatar, Mediators in Reaching Ceasefire Deal in Gaza

Doha: Jordan has welcomed the ceasefire deal in Gaza announced on Wednesday and commended the efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States in reaching this agreement.

According to Qatar News Agency, Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, emphasized the need for immediate international action to provide adequate and sustainable humanitarian aid to address the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the Israeli aggression on Gaza and unlock a real effort for reconstruction in Gaza, in addition to halting the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Safadi stressed the imperative of concerted efforts to solidify the ceasefire deal and build upon it, to create genuine prospects for reaching a just and comprehensive solution that guarantees the realization of the independent, sovereign Palestinian statehood on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution principle.
