Jordan, Egypt Foreign Ministers Advocate for Gaza Ceasefire and Political Resolution

Doha: Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi engaged in a phone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelaaty on Monday, focusing on regional developments and efforts to solidify a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

According to Qatar News Agency, both ministers emphasized the critical importance of maintaining the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. They highlighted the necessity of fully implementing the ceasefire’s terms and ensuring the prompt delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. The discussions also connected these efforts to the need for a clear political pathway towards achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on a two-state solution.

Additionally, the ministers discussed a draft resolution currently before the UN Security Council concerning developments in Gaza, which is expected to be voted on today. They expressed that the resolution should contribute to sustaining the ceasefire in the region.
