Gaza City: An updated report from the government's media office in Gaza has detailed extensive casualties and destruction following 450 days of conflict with Israeli forces. The report alleges that Israeli occupation forces committed 9,973 massacres, with 7,176 incidents specifically targeting families. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of 45,514 Palestinians, leaving 108,189 injured, and has decimated 86 percent of Gaza's territory, incurring direct financial losses estimated at $37 billion.
According to Qatar News Agency, the statement from Gaza's media office accused Israel of systematically eradicating 1,413 Palestinian families, effectively removing them from civil records, with these acts accounting for 5,455 deaths. Additionally, it reported that 3,467 families were left with only one surviving member, tallying 7,941 deaths and leaving approximately 11,200 individuals missing, presumed dead, having never reached medical facilities. The report highlighted the deaths of 17,818 children, including 238 infants, with 44 children dying due to malnutrition and famine, while women and children accounted for 70 percent of the overall casualties.
The statement also documented the deaths of 1,068 medical personnel and noted that 94 civil defense operators, 201 journalists, and 728 police and aid security personnel were killed in targeted attacks. The loss of educational opportunities was severe, with 12,780 students reported killed and education denied to an additional 785,000 children. The report further claimed that 756 educators and 148 academics were killed during the conflict.
The report alleged that Israel established seven mass graves within hospitals, from which 520 bodies were retrieved, and removed 2,300 bodies from cemeteries. It further noted the targeting of 216 displacement shelters, with only 10 percent of the area designated as humanitarian zones. The conflict has reportedly left 35,060 orphans and 12,125 widows, with 3,500 children at risk of malnutrition. Additionally, it stated that 6,500 individuals, including 319 medical practitioners, are currently held captive in Israeli prisons, with three executed while in captivity.
The report highlighted the destruction of 161,600 residential buildings and partial damage to 194,000 more, with 82,000 rendered uninhabitable. It accused Israel of "scholasticide," with the destruction of 213 government premises, 135 schools and universities, and damage to 353 schools and a university. Religious sites, including 823 mosques and three churches, were reportedly destroyed or severely damaged.
The report concluded with claims of 88,000 tons of explosives dropped on the Strip, disabling 34 hospitals and 80 medical centers, and targeting 206 heritage sites, sports facilities, and water wells.
