Beirut:The Israeli entity intensified its attacks on southern Lebanon on Sunday, with heavy artillery shelling reported across several towns and regions.
According to Qatar News Agency, the assaults included heavy artillery targeting the towns of Sarbine, Al-Mansouri, Kafr Tibnit, Al-Qantara, Beit Yahoun, Bani Hayyan, and Al-Qusair. The bombardments also extended to Wadi Al-Hujair, Wadi Al-Salouqi, Wadi Zibqin, Wadi Al-Aziyah, the area between the towns of Hadatha and Haris, the region between Zawtar and Mifdoun, and the outskirts of the towns of Baraachit and Kunin.
Additionally, an explosion occurred in the town of Aitaroun. Israeli warplanes also conducted two airstrikes targeting the Wadi Al-Hujair–Faroun area and the Al-Qusair region.
In a related development, Lebanon and the Israeli entity had previously signed a framework agreement in June, mediated by the United States. This agreement outlines security arrangements, including the gradual deployment of the Lebanese Army and the withdrawal of occupying forces, as well as measures related to reconstruction and economic recovery. However, the implementation of these provisions continues to face obstacles.
