Baghdad, President of Iraq, Abdul Latif Rashid discussed Sunday with the Syrian Ambassador in Baghdad, Sattam Jadaan al-Dandah, ways to consolidate cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
‘President Rashid stressed during the meeting the importance of consolidating relations between the two countries and expanding joint cooperation to serve the mutual interests of the two brotherly peoples, according to the Press Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Iraq.
Iraqi President, reaffirmed Baghdad’s support for security, stability and peace in Syria in a way that achieves the well-being and prosperity of the Syrian people.
We support the Palestinian cause and it is necessary to stop the current Israeli aggression against Gaza and achieve the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent State, stated president.
In turn, the Syrian ambassador said that during the meeting, they discussed the ways to advance bilateral relations towards broader persp
ectives in all political and economic fields.
al-Dandah expressed Syria’s desire to activate joint bilateral action to achieve the maximum interests of the two countries and their people.
