Yousif bin Saleh Al-Saleh, Chairman of the Jaffari Endowments Council (JEC), today opened the “Imam Ali” Mosque in Dar Kulaib.
JEC members, Jaffari Endowments Director, Mohammed Jaffar Al-Hussaini, construction committee members, dignitaries and scores of citizens were present.
Al-Saleh commended the great interest of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in taking care of places of worship, which embodies their ongoing support for endowment, charitable and humanitarian work.
He also praised the initiatives of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, led by Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, and the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, under the directives of Minister Nawaf bin Mohammed Al-Maawda, to facilitate the construction, reconstruction and maintenance of mosques and houses of worship across the kingdom, given their active role in enhancing social progress and stability, as they spread the values of cooperation, solidarity, unity and cohesion, as well as contribute effectively to promoting good citizenship.
He expressed delight over the reopening of the iconic mosque, whose reconstruction started in 2020, noting that the project embodies the success of community partnership.
Dignitary Ibrahim Al-Kadhem delivered a statement on behalf of the local citizens, in which he expressed thanks and appreciation to the chairman and members of the JEC for their efforts to facilitate the reconstruction and re-opening of the mosque. He also paid tribute to all those who had contributed to the project.
Ahmed Abbas Sultan addressed the ceremony on behalf of the mosque’s construction committee. He commended the tremendous efforts exerted to rebuild the iconic mosque, expressing thanks and appreciation to the Jaffari Endowments Council’s Chairman and members for their support. He also expressed hope that the remaining service needs of the mosque would be provided.
It is worth noting that the three-storey Imam Ali Mosque combines ancient Islamic architecture and the old Bahraini style. It includes integrated facilities that serve the worshipers and visitors.
