Hundreds of Israeli settlers stormed Thursday al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied City of Jerusalem, under the protection of large numbers of Israeli forces which imposed intensive restrictions on the entry of the Palestinians into the Mosque and assaulted them.
Wafa news agency said that a large number of the occupation forces broke into al-Aqsa at 07:00 am, deployed in its yards and expelled the Palestinians from the vicinity of al-Qibla prayer hall at the Mosque to ensure the storming of the Israeli settlers.
The Israeli settlers stormed al-Aqsa from the direction of Mughrabi Gate in groups that each group includes 50 settlers, they carried out provocative tours in its yards and near Gate of Mercy and the Dome of the Rock.
The occupation forces imposed restrictions since dawn on the entry of the Palestinians into the yards of the Mosque and prevented those who are under forty from the entry and pray in the mosque.
In this context, and in response to the Israeli occupation continued crimes against al-Aqsa Mosque and the worshipers inside it the Palestinian resistance targeted with a number of rockets the occupation settlements in the vicinity of the besieged Gaza Strip and military sites in the Negev area.
Hundreds were injured or arrested due to the Israeli brutal aggression launched on the worshipers and those who are stationed inside the Mosque, which raised widespread Arab and international rejections and condemnations.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry announced that the UN Security Council will hold an emergency closed session to discuss the Israeli violations against al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Ministry indicated that the Israeli forces brutal aggression against the Palestinians in the Mosque and the storming of the Israeli settlers into its yards fall into the framework of the occupation schemes to Judaize the Mosque, as part of the Judaizing operations of Jerusalem, impose control over it and evacuate it of the Palestinians and impose the change of historical and legal status in Jerusalem and its sanctities.
