HM King’s supportive stances towards Palestinians praised by SCIA

Manama, The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) has praised His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s stances in support of the just Palestinian cause.

In this regard, the SCIA lauded the keynote speeches delivered by HM the King at the Summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Cairo Summit for Peace, in addition to HM’s talks with many leaders on regional and global peace.

While convening its 10th regular meeting, under the chairmanship of Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the SCIA also commended HM King Hamad’s directives to deliver urgent humanitarian relief aid to the Palestinians to alleviate their suffering in the midst of the dire humanitarian situation they are going through.

It also hailed the national campaign launched by the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) to support the Palestinians, valuing highly the Bahraini people’s massive interaction with the fund-raising campaign.

On the other hand, the SCIA denounced and condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, and the continuous gross humanitarian violations that claimed the lives of innocent civilians, including a large number children and women. It stressed the need to immediately put an end to hostilities, provide full protection for civilians and civilian buildings, as well as opening urgent humanitarian corridors to allow the entry of medical supplies, food, water, electricity and basic goods into the Gaza Strip.

The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs also underlined its categorical rejection of calls to displace the Palestinians from their homes, neighbourhoods and land of ancestors.

The Council called for concerted Arab and Islamic efforts, as well as for working with rational people to contain the dangerous crisis and mitigate its painful repercussions. It also called for supporting the Palestinian people’s legitimate right to establish their independent state in which they could live in security and stability.

The SCIA welcomed the newly-appointed member, Shaikh Nasser Ahmed Al Asfour, whom they congratulated on the precious royal trust bestowed upon him, wishing him every success.

The Council then discussed other topics on its agenda.
