His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today received a cable of thanks from His Holiness Pope Francis of the Vatican in reply to HM’s letter in which he praised the outcomes of the first meeting of the Permanent Committee of the Muslim-Christian Dialogue, bringing together the Muslim Council of Elders and the Vatican.
In the letter, HM the King expressed thanks to HH Pope Francis for appointing an Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia, residing in Bahrain.
HH Pope Francis expressed thanks and appreciation to HM King Hamad for his benevolent efforts and noble humanitarian initiatives for the good of all mankind.
His Holiness also recalled his successful historic visit to the Kingdom last year, which contributed to strengthening the close cooperation relations with the Vatican and consolidating the values of tolerance, fraternity, love, peace and human coexistence.
HH Pope Francis wished HM the King abundant health and happiness and the people of Bahrain continued prosperity, progress and prosperity.
