General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah said that the fraudulent acquisition of Bahraini nationality is unacceptable and constitutes a national crime.
He emphasised that nationality is a valuable foundation for enhancing social security and preserving national identity.
The honour of acquiring nat

The minister pointed out that the committee has made significant efforts to detect facts based on irrefutable evidence and sufficient convictions. He said this will lead to the reconsideration of cases involving individuals who acquired citizenship in violation of the law and the implementation of measures against those who obtained it illegally.
He explained that the ‘997’ hotline, set by the Ministry of Interior to report information, complaints, or observations regarding unlawful acquisition of Bahraini citizenship, received 146 reports between June 27 and July 23, 2024. This includes 73 reports related to non-biological children and 35 reports concerning the acquisition of citizenship without fulfilling the required time period.
General
Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah noted that the committee has begun contacting the individuals who submitted reports to inform them of its findings.
The minister lauded the national sense of patriotism demonstrated by everyone who cooperated with the committee by providing valuable information through the dedicated hotline.
