Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received a telephone call from HE President of the United States of America, Donald Trump. The conversation focused on the latest regional developments, with particular emphasis on efforts to reduce tensions between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, aiming to bring their views closer together and enhance the chances of reaching a sustainable diplomatic settlement to the crisis.

According to Qatar News Agency, the US President commended the State of Qatar for its significant role under the leadership of HH the Amir in supporting diplomatic efforts and facilitating dialogue between parties. This role contributes to enhancing security and stability in the region.

His Highness underscored the importance of continuing dialogue and adopting diplomatic means to address contentious issues. He emphasized the necessity for all parties to adhere to the agreements within the framework of the memorandum of understanding between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, supporting international initiatives aimed at containing tensions, thereby contributing to peace and security at both regional and international levels.

The two leaders also discussed various issues of joint interest, stressing the importance of continued coordination and consultation regarding regional and international developments to serve the interests of the two friendly countries.
