Hezbollah: Response to Fouad Shukr’s killing delayed for political reasons

Jerusalem – Ma’an – A Hezbollah leader revealed on Sunday the reason for the delay in responding to the assassination of Fouad Shukr, indicating that it was due to political reasons, the most important of which were the ceasefire talks in Gaza.

The Hezbollah leader added that the resistance, in its response to the killing of Fouad Shukr, was keen to avoid the outbreak of a comprehensive war.

On Sunday morning, the Lebanese Hezbollah announced the completion of the “first phase” of its attacks on Israel “with complete success,” following the Israeli army’s launch of a large-scale attack in Lebanon.

The party said in a statement that the first stage includes “targeting Israeli barracks and sites to facilitate the passage of attack drones towards their desired target deep inside the entity, and the drones crossed as planned.”

He added, “The number of Katyusha rockets launched so far has exceeded 320 rockets towards enemy sites.”

Hezbollah explained that it targeted 11 Israeli military bases, which are the M
eron base, the Naveh Ziv military base, the Zaatoun base, the Zaoura military base, the Sahel base, the Kela and UF barracks, the Nafah and Yarden bases in the occupied Syrian Golan, the Ein Zi Tim base, and the Ramot Naftali barracks.
