Health Minister Meets With Costa Rica Vice President

Minister of Public Health HE Dr Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari met with Vice-President of Costa Rica Marvin Rodriguez Cordero in Doha on Tuesday.

The meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the health fields, and the efforts to counter the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Costa Rica to Qatar HE Alvaro Mariano Segura Avila and a number of senior officials at the Ministry of Public Health.

Following the meeting, the minister accompanied the vice -president of Costa Rica and his accompanying delegation in a tour of Qatar Rehabilitation Centre at Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City.

During the tour, the visiting delegation was briefed about the various sections of the centre and the advanced services it provides to rehabilitation patients, including the gait laboratory and the Easy Street facility through which real situations are simulated by engaging the patient in a safe clinical environment for patients whose cases require targeted treatment to enable them to reintegrate back into the society and take their first independent steps towards recovery.

Members of the official delegation accompanying the vice-president also paid a visit to Rumailah Hospital where they learned about the hospital’s departments and the services it provides to patients and visitors.
