H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, today attended part of the ninth edition of the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace, held under the theme “Global Conflict and Universal Peace: Urgent Needs and Opportunities for Partnership”.
Sheikh Abdullah attended the main session held on the second day of the forum, which came within the framework of celebrating the 2022 Imam Hasan bin Ali International Peace Prize, in which Shaikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, Chairman of the UAE Fatwa Council and Head of the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace, was the keynote speaker.
On the occasion, Sheikh Abdullah stressed that the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum has become a prominent global beacon for promoting the values and concepts of tolerance, coexistence and human fraternity.
He welcomed the participants in the forum, praising the innovative visions and ideas they present, which are consistent with the forum’s creative humanitarian objective that works to promote the values of global peace, consolidate the principles of fraternity and human solidarity, expand partnerships and forge alliances with peacemakers at the global level.
The Abu Dhabi Peace Forum recently announced that the President Joko Widodo of the Republic of Indonesia had won the 2022 Imam Hasan bin Ali International Peace Prize, presented by the Forum under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed.
The award honours leaders and scholars who have practical initiatives and scientific contributions to promoting the culture of peace
A large number of global decision-makers and religious leaders are participating in the forum, which concludes tomorrow in Abu Dhabi, including ministers, representatives of UN organisations and government bodies, intellectuals and academic figures, in addition to officials form civil society institutions and organisations working in the field of peace and tolerance.
The ninth Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace deals in particular with opportunities and challenges of international cooperation and partnerships. It provides an opportunity for the exchange of views and experiences among actors in the field of peace and tolerance, in order to spread the values of peace, coexistence and solidarity.
