Google Chrome Adds New Features to Improve Search Experience

Google has announced the launch of several new Chrome browser features in Android and iOS, with the aim of enhancing and streamlining the search experience in mobile devices.

These updates focus on improving the efficiency of day-to-day tasks delivery and keeping up to date with new developments and trending topics.

One of the most notable new additions is the “Chrome Actions” feature of the local search results. The browser will show brief buttons for quick actions, such as direct contact with the organization, obtaining instructions to access it, or reading past users’ ratings when conducting a search for a restaurant or other local company via smartphone.

This feature is currently available in Android devices and is due to be provided by Google in iOS later this year.

Tablet users will benefit from the redesigned title bar in the browser, this new design takes advantage of the large screen space, and is in line with Google’s “Material You” design language, and the new design ensures that the open page
remains visible below the drop-down list of the title bar, making it easier to return to it when needed.

Google also offers the “Shortcut Suggestions” feature in the title bar, which helps to move to websites based on usual writing habits, for example if the user usually searches using the phrase “travel appointments” to access the local transport system site, Chrome will prioritize this proposal when writing begins.

Sports enthusiasts will enjoy live sports match cards in Chrome’s feed on the new tab page, providing automatic match results updates and highlights for favorite teams, ensuring they stay up to date on the latest sports news.

These new updates from Google Chrome contribute to enhancing the efficiency of the mobile search experience, make common tasks faster, and make customized suggestions.
