Google Acquires Cameyo

Google announced its acquisition of Cameyo, a company specializing in virtualization software.

This acquisition will lead to a deeper integration of default applications into ChromeOS. It will improve users’ experience and make it easier for relevant IT managers to deploy these applications to users, co-founder and marketing director at Cameyo Rob Henshaw said.

Google cooperated with Cameyo last year to provide a virtual application experience for Windows applications in the ChromeOS system, and it seeks to attract more companies to rely on ChromeOS instead of Windows, especially with improved support for default applications from Cameyo.

Cameyo Virtual Application Delivery technology allows companies to run virtual Windows applications in ChromeOS via the browser, without the need for a full Windows system, making the applications run on ChromeOS within the Chrome browser alongside other web applications.
