Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo on Saturday received a message from his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune, pertaining to the crisis in Niger, and intensifying efforts for a peaceful solution that spares the country and the countries of the region the repercussions of a possible escalation.
The message was conveyed by Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf during a meeting with the Ghanaian President in the capital, Accra.
During the meeting, President Nana Akufo-Addo valued Algeria's efforts and endeavors to put an end to the crisis in Niger.
Algeria recently launched an initiative for finding a political solution to the crisis in Niger that would spare this country and the West African region repercussions of uncalculated consequences.
ECOWAS earlier rejected the Niger military council's announcement of a three-year transitional period, and gave the council a new opportunity to restore civil order in the country.
