Germany: Germany has urged the United Nations to step up efforts to end wars and resolve conflicts around the world. Speaking before departing for New York to attend the UN General Assembly's general debate, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul emphasized the need for the international community to move beyond merely taking stock of the crises, conflicts, and wars facing the world.
According to Qatar News Agency, Wadephul called on political leaders to work seriously towards solutions, highlighting that every step towards resolving conflicts, however small, holds significance. He criticized the growing reliance on escalation instead of striving for lasting peace and peaceful coexistence, stressing the necessity for concerted international efforts to foster a more peaceful approach.
Wadephul stated that Germany aims to bridge the communication gap between parties involved in conflicts. He also urged Moscow to recognize the importance of engaging in serious negotiations, cautioning that Russia presents a growing threat to EU and NATO member states.
Wadephul noted that the UN General Assembly's general debate provides a unique opportunity for broad international coordination on major global challenges.
