Doha: Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi and his German counterpart, Johann Wadephul, engaged in discussions on Wednesday focusing on bilateral relations and strategies to ease tensions between Israel and Iran, alongside efforts to secure a lasting ceasefire in Gaza.
According to Qatar News Agency, during a joint press conference held after their meeting, Ayman Safadi emphasized the urgent need for collective action to halt the current dangerous escalation in the region. He called for an end to the aggression in Gaza, the establishment of a hostages and prisoners exchange agreement, and measures to address the severe humanitarian crisis affecting the Gaza Strip.
Johann Wadephul, representing Germany, reiterated his country’s commitment to the two-state solution and highlighted Germany’s intention to work closely with Jordan to achieve this objective. He stressed that the German government considers Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem as essential components of a prospective Palestinian state.
