General Tax Authority Wins First Place in “Government Services Redesign Challenge 2026”

Doha: The General Tax Authority was awarded first place in the second edition of the "Government Services Redesign Challenge 2026," organized by the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau with the participation of several government entities, for its Excise Tax Product Registration service.

According to Qatar News Agency, the General Tax Authority announced in a press release that this service is part of their comprehensive development and transformation plan. The plan emphasizes ongoing enhancement of services, simplification of procedures, and strengthening of digitalization to improve taxpayer experience and enhance service efficiency.

The service achieved excellence standards for designing and developing government services by presenting an integrated model focused on improving clarity and ease in registering products subject to excise tax. This reflects the Authority's commitment to providing more efficient and innovative services.

The achievement followed the Authority's participation in an innovation event that included intensive interactive workshops. These workshops aimed at understanding the current state of the service, exploring challenges, envisioning future solutions, and developing applicable prototypes for the judging panel.

The challenge phases involved a collaborative approach starting with identifying challenges and development opportunities, followed by idea generation and solution design, and concluding with presenting an enhanced model for a smoother and more efficient user experience.

The Authority's presentation stood out for its clarity and comprehensive approach in addressing challenges and solutions, emphasizing the impact of service development on taxpayer experience and procedural efficiency.
