Doha:The General Tax Authority has announced an extension of the registration deadline for the Global and Domestic Minimum Tax via the Dhareeba platform until January 31, 2027.
According to Qatar News Agency, this extension is applicable to multinational enterprise groups and joint venture groups. The decision aims to provide these groups with additional time to meet registration requirements and complete the process, thereby facilitating compliance with their tax obligations.
The General Tax Authority has urged all groups affected by the Global and Domestic Minimum Tax provisions to finalize their registration through the Dhareeba platform by the new deadline. Groups are encouraged to utilize the extended period to prepare the necessary data and information for successful registration.
The registration service, launched on August 2, 2026, allows groups subject to these tax provisions to submit required data and designate a local entity responsible for handling registration, notification, and tax return filing in accordance with Qatar's applicable tax laws. This extension underscores the Authority’s commitment to supporting taxpayers, promoting compliance, and ensuring the successful implementation of the Global and Domestic Minimum Tax framework.
