New york: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi affirmed that the active participation of GCC member states in international forums, together with their expanding relations with countries, blocs, and regional and international organizations, reflects their prominent standing on the global stage.

According to Qatar News Agency, Albudaiwi spoke on the occasion of the GCC Ministerial Coordination Meeting, held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 81). He stated that the meeting is part of ongoing coordination and consultation among GCC member states on issues of mutual interest, aiming to strengthen the unified Gulf position and reinforce joint action by the Council states in regional and international forums.

He mentioned that the meeting discussed the joint ministerial meetings scheduled between the GCC and various countries, blocs, and regional and international organizations. These discussions addressed topics and issues on their agendas to advance shared interests and propel cooperation and partnership toward broader horizons.

He highlighted that the joint ministerial meetings reflect the shared interest of the GCC and its international and regional partners in further developing their relations. This is driven by the pivotal role and growing standing of GCC states in supporting security, stability, and development, as well as in fostering opportunities for dialogue and cooperation at both regional and international levels.

He also emphasized that the GCC member states are continuing to strengthen their regional and international relations and build effective, sustainable partnerships based on mutual respect and shared interests. Such partnerships contribute to consolidating security, stability, peace, and development at both regional and international levels, while reflecting the unified positions of GCC states on regional and international issues.
