Secretary-Genera of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi met on Saturday with Pakistani Minister of Foreign Affairs Jalil Abbas Jilani, on the sidelines of the meetings of 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues and several topics, most notably the developments related to free trade negotiations, and the importance of advancing this matter to serve common economic and commercial interests, in addition to the Joint Action Plan approved between the two sides for the period 2022-2026.
The GCC Secretary-Genera stated that the relations between the Cooperation Council and Pakistan are witnessing growth and development in joint cooperation at various levels, adding that the GCC countries look forward to reaching a final consensus to sign the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two sides.
He added that the GCC countries and Pakistan are linked by strong historical relations that contributed to strengthening joint cooperation between the two sides.
