GCC Achieves Full Coverage of Health Services for Youth

Tunis:Gulf Cooperation Council countries have achieved a remarkable milestone, reaching 100% coverage of basic health services for adolescents and young people. This achievement surpasses the global average of 68%, as reported by the Statistical Centre for the Cooperation Council for the Arab Countries of the Gulf (GCC-STAT).

According to Qatar News Agency, the report highlighted that the population of adolescents and young people aged 10-24 in GCC countries reached approximately 12.8 million in 2025, making up 20% of the region's total population.

In addition to healthcare coverage, GCC countries have also achieved 100% compliance with basic national regulations regarding adolescent and youth health, compared to a global compliance rate of 84%. This accomplishment underscores the GCC's dedication to enhancing adolescent and youth health through essential healthcare services and the implementation of protective national regulations.

Every year on September 30, GCC countries observe Gulf Adolescent and Youth Health Day to emphasize the importance of investing in the health of young people. The event focuses on strengthening preventive care, increasing health awareness, and developing services tailored to the needs of the youth.
