G7 Leaders Call for Allowing UNRWA to Work Unhindered in Gaza

The G7 leaders have called for allowing United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to work unhindered in Gaza.

The G7 leaders agreed that it is critical for UNRWA, and other UN organizations and agencies’ distribution networks be fully able to deliver aid to those who need it most, fulfilling their mandate effectively, the draft of the end-of-summit statement reported.

Slated to be issued after the conclusion of the summit, the draft statement pointed out that the G7 leaders countenance the US ceasefire proposal in Gaza and release of hostages. Also, they underscore their unwavering commitment to the two-state solution.

The draft statement confirmed that the G7 leaders would call on the Israeli army to stop launching large-scale offensive in Rafah city, in commensurate with the commitment under international law. And they would voice their grave concern over the border situation in southern Lebanon.

The G7 comprises Germany, France, Britain, Italy, Japan, Canad
a, and the United States of America.
