Qatar University’s College of Engineering organized recently a virtual symposium that discussed the conditions and challenges of higher education in the post-COVID-19 phase.
The symposium was entitled: “Higher Education after COVID-19: A New phase of Flexibility, Lessons and Opportunities”.
Dr. Hassan Rashid Al Derham, President of Qatar University moderated the symposium, with the participation of Professor Dr. Bam Friedman, former President of the University of Gothenburg; and President of the International Association of Universities Dr. Melih Polo, President of the University of Halk among others.
Dr. Khaled Kamal Naji, Dean of the College of Engineering, said, “This virtual symposium and other seminars organized recently by the college are in support of all the efforts of state institutions to confront the COVID-19, and to study its effects and mitigate them in coordination with other sectors.”
“The symposium included a review of different patterns of higher education discussed by the interlocutors and answered a large number of questions asked by the public regarding the future of higher education and its potential patterns after the COVID-19 pandemic, effects, challenges and potential opportunities,” he added.
