Tashkent, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, headed Bahrain’s delegation at the Foreign Ministerial Meeting of the Central Asia – the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Strategic Dialogue.
The minister underlined the importance of thorough monitoring and follow-up to ensure the accomplishment of the objectives of the joint action plan between the two sides.
Dr. Al Zayani underscored the significance of submitting proposals to enhance economic relations, trade exchanges, and cooperation in social, cultural, tourism, youth, and other areas.
He affirmed the importance of strengthening coordination, political consultations, and unifying international efforts to confront regional and global challenges, crises, and threats.
Dr. Al Zayani commended the positions of the Central Asian countries and their support for just Arab causes, especially the Palestinian cause, noting that the security and stability of the Middle East depend on settling this important issue in a just and sustainab
le way and ensuring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to establish their national state.
Bahrain is committed to its firm position calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, protecting the civilian population, rejecting their forced displacement, and facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine, the minister said.
The minister expressed deep concern about the increasing tensions in the region, calling for immediate action to prevent further escalation, and calling on all parties to practice restraints. He urged the international community to intervene immediately to ensure peace and security.
During the meeting, a joint communique was issued where the two sides affirmed their joint commitment to forming an advanced and sustainable partnership based on common values and mutual interests. They also affirmed the importance of enhancing trade exchanges and investments to ensure the sustainability of supply chains, linking means of tra
nsportation and transit, food, energy, and water security, as well as implementing investment projects.
